Postcard "Hydrangea" Watercolor

The hydrangeas are a genus of plants in the hydrangea family (Hydrangeaceae). The most famous in Central Europe is the garden hydrangea. The approximately 80 species are native to East Asia, North America and Chile. They grow mainly in moist deciduous forests on lime-poor, humus-rich soils. The botanical name of the genus comes from the Greek and means "water jug" - an allusion to the high water requirements of many species.

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite plants and I have quite a few! The hydrangeas are available with different flower colors in blue-violet, pink and white.
