I immediately noticed the Littlealeaf Mock-Orange because of the similarity of the flowers to the orange blossoms. In addition, the flower scent is very striking, but pleasantly flowery.

The Littlealeaf Mock-Orange (Philadelphus microphyllus) is a small shrub from the hydrangea family (Hydrangeaceae). Its natural range is in the southwestern United States. The natural range is in the US states Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah and in Baja California Norte in Mexico Species grows in steppes and dry forests on moderately dry to fresh, slightly acidic to alkaline, sandy-loamy to loamy, nutrient-rich soils in sunny to light-shady locations. It loves warmth and is usually frost hardy.
